If I make a donation, how is my money used to help?
Unless otherwise restricted by the donor, all donations flow into Cerebral Palsy Inc.’s annual fund supporting our various services including Adult Day Services, Birth to 3 & Pediatric Therapies, Aquatic Therapy & Exercise Classes, Integrated Childcare, Outpatient Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapies, and Outreach Services.
Donor contributions are also used to purchase equipment that assist clients using our services. Equipment may include such things as adaptive switches for computers, specialized exercise equipment, assistive technology and therapeutic devices, and requests that are unique to the needs of our clients.
How do you protect my privacy as a donor?
Cerebral Palsy, Inc. keeps all donor information private and does not share, sell or exchange donor information with any entity. Your confidence in the way we handle your personal information is extremely important to us. Only authorized CP staff handles donor transactions and is done so in the most confidential manner.
As the use of credit cards is becoming more popular for making donations, it is important for you to know that credit card information is not kept in our database for donor management.

Locker Room Cooling

The two original locker rooms do not have cooling running to them. During the hot summer days, the temperature in the rooms can reach 90 plus degrees. The heat is too much for clients and staff to bear so there are times they cannot use the pool facilities.

One of the boilers used to provide heat to the CP Center that was installed in 1986 is beginning to show significant signs of pitting and breakdown. This system will need to be replaced soon before it fails.

There are 2 hot water (60 and 69 gallons) heaters within the CP Center that will soon need replacement

Assist the caregiver getting a client in/out of their wheelchair for personal cares. Adjusting the height of the table provides significantly better body mechanics for caregivers moving a client on/off of a changing table.

The Center for Aquatic Rehabilitation and Exercise within the CP Center is in need of sound reduction panels to absorb the noise of the air handling systems and help reduce noise and make it easier for clients/patients/participants to hear instructors.

Two Prone Standers
|

Units provide support so that a client is able to stand independently for up to 60 minutes. When a client is in the standing position it increases their leg strength, trunk strength, trunk control and overall positioning. Regular use contributes to increased independence.

Waiting Room Furniture

The CP Center has two waiting room areas for persons coming to the center for therapy. Both are in need of new furniture.

Commercial Dryer

CP currently relies on donated household dryers to use in the Adult Day Program and the Aquatics Center. The loads are too great for these machines to handle and are replaced often.

Copy Paper

CP uses approximately 4 pallets of copy paper per year.

Locked & Rolling Medical Cabinet

Many of the Adult Day Services Program participants bring medicine along with them for distribution throughout the day. A rolling locked cabinet would assist in distribution.
