Access Methods Seminar

Through hands on experience, demonstration and video example participants explore eye gaze technology, infrared sensing (headtracking), joystick and alternative mouse control, touch access, single and multiple switch control for AAC devices.

Clinical and practical assessment considerations are discussed across the access methods. Implications for teaching and common adjustments to increase effectiveness. The relationship between motor actions and language learning is reviewed in context and how someone with physical or multiple disabilities becomes an effective, proficient communicator with AAC.

Connection Point: Picky Eaters Workshop for parents, providers and caregivers.

7-8:30pm at Cerebral Palsy, Inc, 2801 S. Webster Ave, Green Bay, WI  54301

A team of clinicians from CP, including a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, will review typical symptoms of picky eating and discuss effective strategies for reducing the anxiety related to food and mealtime. Success stories from our S.M.I.L.E.S. for Children group, Picky Eaters Anonymous (PEA), will be shared.

Parents and Caregivers: $10.00 per person or $15.00 for two family members.
Professionals: $15.00 per person. Providers will receive a certificate of attendance.
Space is limited, early registration is recommended.
