Nothing can be more isolating than the inability to speak. The Augmentative Communication service focuses on helping people find creative ways to effectively communicate. Cerebral Palsy, Inc. speech therapists identify specific needs, evaluate potential solutions, and help select the right communication solution, ranging from simple, non-speech communication boards to sophisticated computer-based devices with electronic speech output.

Some people with physical challenges are prevented from using home, school, and business computers in their conventional forms. Adaptive Computer Access helps them overcome those challenges. Using a full range of on-site adaptive computer products, effective alternatives to the standard keyboard, mouse and/or monitor are found and implemented.

In addition to adaptive computer technologies, those with disabilities may also need special arrangements to access their computer work areas. The Adaptive/Ergonomic Work Station service exists to tailor computer workstations to clients’ specific circumstances. An Assistive Technology team works with them and their employers, teachers, and others to develop workstations that accommodate their needs, making it possible for them to complete the widest range of tasks.
